What Causes Dry Eyes?

Dry eye disease is a condition in which a person is unable to provide adequate lubrication for their eyes due to lack of tear production or because of poor quality of tears. Tears are necessary for maintaining the health of the front surface of the eye and for providing clear vision.

WHO GETS DRY EYE?

As many as 20 million Americans suffer from some form of dry eye syndrome. Contact lens wearers, computer users and people who suffer from certain systemic conditions are especially at risk, and can benefit from treatment options. A poor diet, the use of certain medications, allergies, sinus problems and skin conditions are other known causes that can make you more susceptible to the dry eyes.
